Parks and gardens in Paris 🌳
In Paris you won’t only find beautiful squares, historical monuments, famous paintings and some of the world’s finest museums. There are also dozens of parks which definitely deserve your attention. Below we present some of the best parks and gardens in Paris. Either it is for a picnic, sunbathing, chill or just a walk, these are the must see spots 
Bois de Vincennes
Bois de Vincennes (Métro: Porte Dorée or Porte de Charenton, Paris_12). The Vincennes forest covers an area of approximately 995 hectares and is the largest park or better forest in Paris. It’s basically not a simple park with trees, flowers, lakes and cute ducklings, but for a forest recreational complex. In the woods of Vincennes, among others, you will find a racetrack, restaurants, cafes, a hidden Buddhist temple, a baseball court, a small farm, a playground, a smaller recreation park, a botanical garden and a theater complex la “Cartoucherie”.
Also next to the forest of Vincennes dominates the Château de Vincennes (castle), where King Henry II of England left his last breath.
Bois de Boulogne
Bois de Boulogne (Métro 1: Porte Maillot, Paris_16). The forest of Boulogne is Paris’ second largest park. It includes a total area of 865 hectares, is extremely picturesque and is the ideal place for Sunday’s lazy walks. In the heart of the forest of Boulogne there is an excellent botanical garden, the Bagatelle Park and in the wider area of the forest you will find 2 horse racetracks, a recreational park for children le “Jardin d’Acclimatation” , cafes and one of the best restaurants in Paris, Le Pré Catelan (route de Suresnes).
Tuileries ❤
Jardin des Tuileries (Métro 1: Tuileries, Paris_1). The Tuileries Gardens are literally an oasis in the heart of the French capital. The Tuileries Gardens ( Jardin des Tuileries ), which in free translation means the gardens of the Ceramics have taken their name from the tile handicrafts that have been based in this area during the previous centuries. They are located between the Louvre Museum and Concorde Square, and within the gardens you will find unique sculptures by Maillot, Rodin, Giacometti, and Dubuffet as well as the Musée de l’Orangerie.
Jardin du Luxembourg 
Jardin du Luxembourg (RER: Louxembourg, Paris_6). One of the most interesting places to wander in Paris is the Gardens of Luxembourg. It is a very amazing park located in a central part of the city, in the 6th arrondissement, very close to the Sorbonne and the Pantheon. It occupies an area of about 25 hectares, with tall trees, countless flowers and you can read here the unique history of Luxembourg gardens.
Jardin des Plantes
Jardin des Plantes (Métro: Jussieu, Gare d’Austerlitz, Censier-Daubento, Paris_5). It is the botanical garden of Paris, which includes about 10.000 species of plants, tropical greenhouses and splendid alpine gardens. Inside the park there is also the National Museum of Natural History (Musée National d’Histoire Naturelle), a small zoo ( Ménagerie) as well as the excellent Museum of Palaeontology and Anatomy (Galerie de Paléontologie et d’Anatomie comparée).
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (Métro: Buttes Chaumont, Paris_19). Local’s favorite spot for picnics and chill afternoons, which unfortunately is not often mentioned in travel guides. Located on the Belleville hill, and apart from its unparalleled beauty, it offers a unique view of Paris.
Parc de Belleville
Parc Belleville (Métro: Couronnes, Paris_20). Belleville park is another small Paris gem which is not often mentioned in travel guides. It is located on the hill of Belleville and in our humble opinion offers the best view of Paris. It is especially worth visiting it late afternoon shortly before sunset ☀
Parc André Citroën 🚗
André Citroën park (RER C: Pont du Garigliano, Paris_15) is the most modern and trendy park in Paris. It occupies an area of 15 hectares and has taken its name from the Citroën plant that was based in the region in the past decades. The futuristic park is divided into 3 smaller theme parks and there the visitor has the opportunity to experience rarely exotic plants and do various alternative activities.
Parc de la Vilette
Parc de la Villette (Métro: Porte de la Villette, Paris_19). It is located in the east of the city of Paris and is an enormous area, landscaped in a large amusement park, with gardens, playgrounds, cafes, arts and science venues. It covers an area of 55 hectares where it used to be the location of the old slaughterhouses of animals in Paris. It includes an impressive complex dedicated to science and technology – the City of Sciences and Industry (Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie), a concert hall, an exhibition center, cinemas and a music center.
